Friendship isn’t easy when you have a disability. For some, sure, friendships are easy. However, many I talk to have difficulty. I believe it’s because people who have disabilities can’t just take off or go places quickly, or people think it’s a more complicated ordeal than it is. Nevertheless, I cherish the genuine friendships that I do have. Today I remember my childhood into my teen years best friend. I remember her today because it would have been her birthday. Sadly, she died several years ago, but she’s always on my mind. We were both six years old and in…

My friend informed me that it was a don’t quit day. Today is for precisely new year’s resolutions. So many abandon about mid-January or feel defeated and need to return to their resolutions. I’m here to inspire you not to give up on those goals. I could improve my resolutions. But, unfortunately, I have not kept up on the Catechism of the year or Bible in-a-year podcasts. Yet, despite what I didn’t do, I have accomplished resolutions. Determination and focus on the outcome motivate me to do it. Reading is one of my resolutions. I bought a new Kindle and…

Chocolate chip cookies are the best. However, there is nothing like an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie. The taste is delicious, but the oatmeal helps keep you full. Like chocolate chip cookies, the key is to add a significant amount of chocolate chips. The chocolate chips keep you coming back for more. Also, do not overbake. Keep the timer a lesser amount, and you’ll have cookies that are just perfect. Ingredients 1 cup butter, softened 1 cup packed light brown sugar ½ cup white sugar Two eggs Two teaspoons of vanilla extract One ¼ cup all-purpose flour ½ teaspoon baking soda…

The cookies are delicious! What is your favorite? Most of us have one favorite type of cookie. Christmas is the time to bake cookies. It’s a tradition in families. In the beginning, God existed, which means so did Jesus. Being Catholic or Christian may seem like it’s getting more complex. Society frowns against moral law and pushes Jesus further away. I’ve moved Jesus away at certain times in my life. However, I learned that following Jesus made my life easier and happier. We all have had difficult times and prayed to God. Sometimes His answers are clear and quick. Yet, sometimes it seems like there needs to be an answer. Unanswered prayers can feel discouraged and disconnected from God. How was your Thanksgiving? The day can go quickly; before you know it, it is over. Our Thanksgiving went well but small. However, no matter how small, I’m thankful for who I have around the table. I’m also grateful for those who couldn’t be with us. My friend, an attendant, came to dress me and feed me breakfast. I appreciate my care attendants because of much independence. After being ready, Jason and I watched Thanksgiving parades. I switched between three channels. When they ended, I got out of my wheelchair and did a few things on my iPad. We ate…
