Don’t quit those New Year’s Resolutions

My friend informed me that it was a don’t quit day. Today is for precisely new year’s resolutions. So many abandon about mid-January or feel defeated and need to return to their resolutions. I’m here to inspire you not to give up on those goals.

I could improve my resolutions. But, unfortunately, I have not kept up on the Catechism of the year or Bible in-a-year podcasts. Yet, despite what I didn’t do, I have accomplished resolutions. Determination and focus on the outcome motivate me to do it.

Reading is one of my resolutions. I bought a new Kindle and seated a goal to read one chapter per day. If I read more, excellent, but I have to read one. Today I finished the book Faith Still Moves Mountains, by Harris Faulkner. My dad gave it to me for Christmas, and I highly recommend it. The book changed my outlook on everything. Reading is pleasurable, and a chapter a day makes reading a book achievable instead of work. Give it a chance.

A closer relationship with God is another one of my resolutions. I pray each day about everything and everyone. I’m giving thanks and having the confidence to converse with God. God has changed me for the better, so He is number one in my life. Begin simply with just a few words daily. Before you know it, you’ll be having entire conversations.

Regarding my health, I’m eating smarter and exercising five days a week. In the morning, I put protein powder in my chocolate milk. It keeps me satisfied longer. I might eat a banana too. At lunch, it’s not always the healthiest, but I burn off those calories as the day goes on. I also put collagen powder in my hot chocolate after school and have a small dinner. As a result, my clothes feel better on, and I feel happier. Minor improvements can help you feel great.

I’m more into relationships and less into technology. Every day, I write down things that were good that day. I would do this even if it weren’t such a good day. There’s always something to be grateful for, so I do my best.

You can do this. Small steps slowly turn into big habits. Let me help you or hear your progress by learning a comment below.
