Gratitude is essential. Too many people aren’t thankful and see the negativity in everything. Each day is a gift and an opportunity. I have lived in dire and abusive situations. I’m embarrassed about what I lived with and for allowing it to happen. However, life is a bit brighter when you see each day as a gift.

Yes, I’m not happy about plenty of things this year. Some I can’t believe happened. But I can’t stay in that space because I’ll be sad. So, I choose gratitude. So many things are to be thankful for, and we need to realize this.

What I’m thankful for this year –

  1.  My husband does the big and small things to make our marriage work. I’m loved.
  2. I try each day to make the next day better than the last.
  3. Jason makes life fun and happy. He make me laugh, no matter the circumstances.
  4. Laura helps and has brilliant insight beyond her years. She devotes herself to everyone.
  5. My parents believe in me and support me however they can.
  6. Personal care attendants stuck by my side to help me achieve health and independence.
  7. I am being physically able to be independent on the floor. I can get dressed, shower, use the bathroom, and get in/out of bed when I’m out of my wheelchair, even though I’m 47.
  8. God, Jesus, Mary, and the Holy Spirit are unique and make everything possible.
  9. Technology that helps me be successful at work and home, especially my iPhone.
  10. My friends and family love and support me in everything I do.
  11. This year was a trying, learning, unknown year of the future. Yet, priorities were found, growth made, and love grew.
  12. Roe V Wade was overturned. I never thought I’d see the day.
