Bullying is a pervasive issue that affects individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life. Whether it occurs in schools, workplaces, or online spaces, bullying can have severe and lasting impacts on the mental and emotional well-being of those targeted. As a society, it’s crucial that we take a stand against bullying and foster a culture of kindness, empathy, and respect.
When I was in middle school and high school, I was the target of bullying. Both people were boys who became physical. One threw paper at my head. The incident in high school became much more serious. A boy grabbed the handle bars of my wheelchair to pull me backwards. Luckily, I had the confidence to go to the principal and tell him immediately. Currently, I find bullies online because I am conservative and when I ask for research or clarification – it’s amazing how quickly people resort to name calling, laughing at you, and going off topic.
