Imagine watching TV without hearing adults bash each other. Presidential Election Day is tomorrow, and so many emotions come to mind. Worry, fear, anxiety, and hope are a few. Here are five happy reasons to celebrate the end of the election.
No more TV ads
As a parent, teacher, and decent human being, I don’t like seeing people tear each other apart. I teach children to respect others and stick to the facts. Most of the ads are obviously spliced to make the candidate look horrendous. I wish the ads state what they believe and what they will transform. Hopefully, no one will vote based on a television commercial. Education ads are terrific.
Bye-to-mail fliers
For months, I know everyone has gotten a ton of unsolicited mail and texts. Imagine all that money going towards schools, babies, homelessness, or people with disabilities. Again, if they were If it were informative, that would be great. Negative and False facts are not necessary. We don’t need to be bombarded by developments that negatively affect their perspectives.
Let’s be companions
The issues and the candidates have caused much discussion. Discussions are wonderful and I believe that politics need to be discussed. Many of the discussions were out of control and riddled with anger. Friends became enemies. Hopefully, after a few days, we can all go back to solving problems for the greater interest.
God is in control
No matter the outcome, God is in control. We have the ability to vote and influence, but we have zero control over someone’s vote. I pray daily for the best for our country but I know we all have free will. In the end, we need to stay kind, friendly, patient and educators. What the world needs is respect for human life conception to natural death, education, self-reliance, economic stability. We can achieve this one step at a time.
Unity in the nation
Either way, we will have a new president. There’s a 50-50 chance that you won’t like the outcome of the election. With that said, we have to pull together and make compromises. Try to get along and understand. We live in the same country so it is a good idea to figure out how to get along. But, stay true to the facts, be fair and do not let anyone compromise your morals.
A Prayer for the Election by Jessica Grono
God, please guide our hearts for the better good of every human being. Let us create jobs, help people, grow in kindness, but always live in the truth. Whoever wins, help them to be guided by love for all humans, both born and unborn. Encourage them to value those who have disabilities, adults, children and promote peace. Encourage hardworking Americans. Help improve the economy so we can afford to live.
