Spring is a magical season that breathes new life into the world around us. As winter’s chill fades away and the days grow longer, there’s a sense of renewal and rejuvenation that fills the air. Let the sun come into your home and your soul. Spring is fresh air and the beauty of nature. Get outside and enjoy. Spring brings a sense of revival. As a mom, springtime means outside sports, bike rides, backyard adventures, long walks and planting gardens. Here are five reasons why I love spring:
1. Blossoming Beauty
The beauty of spring is synonymous with blooming flowers and vibrant colors. From cherry blossoms to tulips, the burst of color that accompanies spring is a feast for the eyes. Gardens, parks, and streets come alive with a kaleidoscope of hues, making every stroll a delightful experience. The sight of flowers in full bloom is a reminder of nature’s resilience and beauty, and it never fails to lift my spirits. I like when the trees bud with new leaves. It is always sad to see the trees without leaves. When I see new leaves, I know no more jacket weather is close.
2. Warmer Weather
After the cold and often harsh winter months, the arrival of spring brings a welcome change in temperature. I do enjoy the coziness of cold weather. Beauty of spring is amazing. However, I don’t enjoy being cold. I find it very uncomfortable and it makes my muscles stiff because of cerebral palsy. The warmer weather encourages outdoor activities and allows us to shed our heavy coats in favor of lighter, more comfortable clothing. The pleasant temperatures make it the perfect time for picnics, hikes, and other outdoor adventures. I enjoy longer walks alone or with my family. Sitting on my deck with the dogs and watching the birds at the bird feeder are relaxing spring activities.
Beauty of Spring is Fun
3. Longer Days
With the onset of spring, the days gradually become longer, giving us more daylight to enjoy. The extended hours of sunlight provide an opportunity to engage in activities that may have been limited during the shorter winter days. Whether it’s gardening, exercising, or simply spending time with loved ones, the longer days of spring offer a chance to make the most of our time. As a parent, it can be tough to motivate the kids to do homework. Who wants to sit inside and do homework when it’s sunny and beautiful weather outside? I always said by 7, we need to start homework or get it finished as soon as coming home. Doing homework outside is an alternative too, but the weather can be a bit distracting.
4. Reconnection with Nature
Spring is a season of renewal, not just for nature but for ourselves as well. The awakening of the natural world, from budding trees to chirping birds, invites us to reconnect with the environment. It’s a time to explore nature trails, visit botanical gardens, and appreciate the wonders of the great outdoors. This reconnection with nature can be incredibly grounding and rejuvenating, providing a much-needed respite from the hustle and bustle of daily life. I like it when the birds come back and everything in nature seems to come alive. I’m not a fan of insects, especially mosquitoes. I use peppermint as a natural repellent, and it seems to work pretty well.
5. A Sense of Hope and Renewal
Spring symbolizes new beginnings and fresh starts. The season’s arrival often brings a renewed sense of hope and optimism. It’s a time to set new goals, embrace positive changes, and let go of the past. The very essence of spring is about growth and transformation, making it the perfect season to embark on new journeys and embrace new opportunities. Open your windows for some fresh air. Turn off the lights and let the sunlight illuminate your home instead of electronics.
Whether it’s the blossoming beauty, warmer weather, longer days, reconnection with nature, or the sense of hope and renewal, spring has a unique way of touching our hearts and uplifting our spirits. It’s a season that reminds us of the endless possibilities that lie ahead and encourages us to embrace the beauty of life.
