Oreo Cookie Day Is In March Talk About Deliciousness

OreoJason loves to eat Oreo Cookies so much, and they are by far his favorite cookie. I always make sure we have them in the house. I like them too, and I eat them as a snack. Double stuffed happens to be my favorite. Oreo cookie day falls on March 6. Oreo cookies are the cookies with two chocolate wafers with icing in the middle. The Oreo cookie brings delight to children and adults alike.

The Oreo cookie originated in 1912!  I’m sure that Nabisco had no idea how popular the Oreo was going to be! In 2006, they replaced the trans fat with non hydro vegetable oil to make the icing in the middle a bit more healthy.

The origin of the name Oreo sadly  has little facts. My research said that the word, Oreo, comes from the French word Or which means beautiful. But there is no doubt that Oreo is a well known name for most anyone.

Oreo cookies tend to bring back memories for adults. Who can remember the first time twisting off the chocolate wafer and licking off the icing? How about the excitement of double stuff which means twice the amount of the delicious icing?! I remember when Laura was two years old, and I taught her how to eat an Oreo by twisting them apart and licking the icing.  I taught Jason as well.

Celebrating Oreo cookie day should be fun and creative event. Try making animals on a plate or various recipes using Oreos. I personally love eating Oreo ice cream or pudding. Try an Oreo cookie sundae, cake, milkshake or ice cream with the family. Introduce a child to the beauty of twisting that Oreo top and licking the icing. Whatever you decide to do make sure that you have fun and make your children smile.

    Happy Oreo Day!
