Chocolate Chip Cookies Taste Amazing

The cookies are delicious! What is your favorite? Most of us have one favorite type of cookie. Christmas is the time to bake cookies. It’s a tradition in families. Do you have a favorite Christmas cookie?

My favorite cookie is the chocolate chip cookie or oatmeal chocolate chip. I love the smell and the glorious taste. I want to make cookies, but since I’m physically unable to, I make them with my children. Laura used to be more into baking cookies, but she’s so busy now that she has no time. Jason and I use frozen cookie dough, and we enjoy baking together.

I remember sitting in my wheelchair when I was younger and reading the baking directions to my dad or sister. One time, I mistakenly had them mix the dry and wet ingredients at once. Big mistake! I learned from my mistakes and never did that again.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • One teaspoon of baking soda
  • One teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • One teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • Two large eggs
  • 2 cups of chocolate chips – the more the better!
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (Optional. If omitting, add 1 to 2 Tbsp. of all-purpose flour.) – I don’t like nuts, but you might.

Directions 

  1. Preheat oven to 375° F
  2. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract in a large mixing bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
  3. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. – Ovens are often wrong so I like to take them out after 9 minutes and let them cool. They might not look done, but they are!
