Happy New Year To All And Set New Goals

I hope your new year went well. We stayed home this year with the kids.  A few years ago, we went to a hotel party and it was people, unbeknownst to us, who were about 10 to 15 years older than us. We had a blast and one of my favorite experiences.  Last year Jeff had to work so I went dancing with my best friend. After midnight, my husband picked us up and we hung out together.

This year was more calm. I helped Laura clean out her room and rearrange it. I’m very happy with the set up now, and she has much more space! Cleaning it took most of the day. We also went out to eat at the Sly Fox restaurant after Mass. It felt very arctic and was happy to warm up at home.

Today we watched the mummers parade, cleaned, finished Laura’s room and played with Jason.  Jason said,”I’m going to be good for mommy for the new year!” Laura’s resolution is to keep her room clean.  I have more of mine below, but basically I want to keep on improving myself in every aspect of life.

Here are some things that I’m thankful for today:

1. Laura’s room is rearranged and works a lot better for her.
2. Jason likes spinach.
3. Jeff made an excellent dinner tonight, chicken, spinach
4. I organized things.
5. Shawn worked today and it was good.
6. Jeff threw away most of the alcohol in the house.
7. We played the game of Life.

New year resolutions
1. Be a better mom – creative, make clear rules and expectations, get through the tween years
2. Effective communication – This is mainly in regards to my husband. Clear and make what I want known
3. Don’t procrastinate – When I have a task, just do it.
4. Work out weekly – Pilates, arm bike or aerobics but just keep moving.
5. Teach Jason to read.- I would love Jason to read by kindergarten.
