As 2024 draws to a close, it’s the perfect time to look back and appreciate the journey I’ve taken over the past year. Growth isn’t always a linear path; it’s filled with ups, downs, and unexpected turns. Here’s how I’ve grown this year:

1. Achievements and Milestones

This year has been marked by significant achievements. I accomplished an awake surgery to restore my vocal cord from vocal cord paralysis, my fourth year teaching ESY, going to Pittsburgh with Laura and Jason, going to Virginia with Laura, filling a role for long-term substitute for life skills, surviving heartbreak from life choices of someone close and being a mom of an active tween boy. These milestones not only boosted my confidence but also reinforced my belief in setting and pursuing ambitious goals. I found more faith and friends than I thought possible. My sister and I grew closer than ever.

2. Intellectual and Skill Development

2024 was a year of learning and exploration. I dedicated time to gained in religion, autism, relationships and faith. I read 36 books. These new skills have opened up new opportunities and allowed me to connect with a broader community of like-minded individuals.

3. Strengthening Relationships

The relationships in my life have flourished. I made an effort to spend quality time with family and friends, and built new connections through teaching, my 14th year teaching prep and counseling. These relationships have provided me with support, joy, and a sense of belonging.

4. Self-Discovery and Personal Insights

This year, I have gained a deeper understanding of myself. Through moments of reflection and introspection, I’ve discovered what truly makes me happy and fulfilled. I learned to embrace my strengths and acknowledge areas where I want to grow further. I been through the deepest kind of heartbreak but I learned to rely on God, others and took each day one day at a time.

5. Resilience and Adaptability

Life threw its fair share of challenges my way, but I’ve emerged stronger and more resilient. Whether it was unexpected family changes, vocal cord paralysis, teacher challenges, discrimination and cerebral palsy, i learned to adapt and find strength within myself. These experiences have shaped me into a more resilient individual, ready to face whatever comes next.

Conclusion

As I look ahead to 2025, I carry forward the lessons, experiences, and growth from this past year. With a renewed sense of purpose and confidence, I’m excited for the new adventures and opportunities that lie ahead. Here’s to another year of growth and transformation! I will pray, read, grow closer to God and love my family more than ever.
