Gratitude is essential. Too many people aren’t thankful and see the negativity in everything. Each day is a gift and an opportunity. I have lived in dire and abusive situations. I’m embarrassed about what I lived with and for allowing it to happen. However, life is a bit brighter when you see each day as a gift.
Yes, I’m not happy about plenty of things this year. Some I can’t believe happened. But I can’t stay in that space because I’ll be sad. So, I choose gratitude. So many things are to be thankful for, and we need to realize this.
What I’m thankful for this year –
- My husband does the big and small things to make our marriage work. I’m loved.
- I try each day to make the next day better than the last.
- Jason makes life fun and happy. He make me laugh, no matter the circumstances.
- Laura helps and has brilliant insight beyond her years. She devotes herself to everyone.
- My parents believe in me and support me however they can.
- Personal care attendants stuck by my side to help me achieve health and independence.
- I am being physically able to be independent on the floor. I can get dressed, shower, use the bathroom, and get in/out of bed when I’m out of my wheelchair, even though I’m 47.
- God, Jesus, Mary, and the Holy Spirit are unique and make everything possible.
- Technology that helps me be successful at work and home, especially my iPhone.
- My friends and family love and support me in everything I do.
- This year was a trying, learning, unknown year of the future. Yet, priorities were found, growth made, and love grew.
- Roe V Wade was overturned. I never thought I’d see the day.
