Using My FitBit Inspire Even Without Walking

You don’t have to walk to be healthy

Recently, I heard that people who exercise feel happier than those who are wealthy. I could hardly believe it because of knowing that people always would like to have more money. Being a fan of healthy living, I enjoy having the motivation to exercise. Cerebral palsy does provide an obstacle to exercise especially if you can’t walk. I recently bought a Fitbit Charge 2 because of it being refurbished and curiosity of how it would help me.

Now before you think I totally lost my mind, I know that I can’t walk.   My logic is that any bodily movement has to be good for the body. So even though I can’t walk, I feel that the steps that I obtain by moving my arms and body count as walking steps.  Not everyone will agree with me, but it motivates me to move and gain more steps each day.

The Fitbit Charge 2 tracks your step, heart rate, sleep, exercise sessions, calories burned and miles earned. On the Fitbit app, you can also log in what you eat.  All you need to do is charge it every couple of days and wear it like you would do a watch.  The only thing I miss is that the Fitbit is not waterproof. Waterproof would help when washing hands and showering.  The band it came with was the usual buckle.  I went on Amazon and found bands that are easy for me to snap off by myself.

I have been actively working out ever since putting the fit bit on my wrist.  But then we adopted a new dog, Samantha. Samantha is very sweet and adorable. However, one day, she decided to chew on my FitBit Charge 2.  I wasn’t at all amused! So, thankfully I decided to order the waterproof Inspire Fitbit!  I can now wear it in the shower so my little dogs won’t have a chance to chew it up.

I’m proud to say that I’m up to 6,000 steps a day.  The most I did was almost 18,000 steps, but that was very difficult. I’m very happy and feel great by being physically active each day.

If you buy the Inspire HR, I think you should get the sturdy band. It prevents your FitBit from getting beat up.
