Do you remember in January when we were full of hope and goals? Currently, you might be looking back at the past year with disappointment. Perhaps you needed to obtain all the goals that you intended. Now the year is almost complete, and you wish you had accomplished more.

Please don’t worry! There are plenty of positive goals that you can obtain by January. I know it’s never too late to start or finish a dream—one day at a time and one goal at a time. But, sometimes, you can feel overwhelmed if you look at the big picture.

Everyone has different goals. Your plan looks different than mine. However, here are some ideas of goals obtainable by the end of the year. These are suggestions. Pick one or more. You’ll never know if you try. Let me know what you try.

Goals Before the End of the Year –

    1.  Get more sleep – Go to bed thirty minutes earlier each night.
    2. Exercise – On Monday, Wednesday and Friday, walk/move/dance for thirty minutes.
    3. Save Money – Put $5 in your savings account every other day.
    4. Be a Better Friend – Text/email/call one or more of your friends two or three days a week. (you can say, “Hi, How are you?”)
    5. Spiritual – Attend Mass or church. Go once, and maybe you’ll want to go again or visit another church you like.
    6. Better Parenting – Try not to yell for a day, then add days as you can accomplish no yelling. Hug your children daily and tell them, “I love you,” daily.
    7. Read more – Pick a chapter book and read a chapter a night. You might read the book by January or close to finishing it.
    8. Learn something new: YouTube is a beautiful way to learn something and several online courses. Plenty is available by the end of the year.
    9. Pray – If you’re Catholic (or want a relationship with Mary,) say ten Hail Mary’s throughout the day. You can also have a relationship with God at any time or place just by talking to Him.
    10. Have a better marriage/relationship – Communicate and listen. Go out on a date and compliment your partner. Just be kind, gentle, and friendly to each other.
    11. Better employee – Think about how you can be better at work and spend fifteen minutes a day doing whatever the action is.
    12. Eat more healthily – Choose some vegetables to add them to your diet or fruit. Eat some every day—no need to go crazy and change your entire diet when you can add some daily.
    13. Better person – One of the easiest ways to be better is to smile. Positivity attracts positivity. Try honesty, joy, and gratitude.
    14. Lower stress – Breathe deeply. Break big projects into smaller ones and exercise to help reduce stress. Worrying doesn’t help, but actions and no procrastination relieve lower stress—prayers and following Jesus’ benefits.
    15. Healthier you – Make that doctor’s, dentist, counseling, or therapist appointment, and do not cancel.
