Cerebral palsy products can be expensive, but you can buy everyday products to help you. Spring time has been very busy for the Grono household. Cerebral palsy doesn’t stop our family.   I hope all of you have been doing well and living to your best potential.  To keep you updated, I have made a list of what I’ve been up to by helping my life stay independent.

Cerebral palsy products for everyday life

    1. My husband bought me a Yogibo, which is like a bean bag but better. Cerebral palsy can make positioning difficult. No one wants to sit in a wheelchair all day. Since I spend much of my time on the floor, he bought me a seat that we can both sit comfortably. I can get in and out quickly by myself. My children and I recommend buying one if you’re seeking comfortable seating on the floor. I use it all of the time, as well as my children.
    2. Philosophy 3 in 1 has been excellent. Philosophy makes a line of 3 in 1 body wash, shampoo and conditioner with delightful smells. When I’m in the shower, I use one bottle with a pump to cleanse my body and hair. My favorite scent thus far is the cinnamon bun! You’ll feel clean and smelling good.
    3. Like many people who have cerebral palsy, sleeping doesn’t come easy. I love the My Pillow for my head. I feel comfortable and can sleep without pain.
    4. Since I work all day, getting to the bathroom isn’t always convenient with the wheelchair and timing. Using much trial and error, I’ve found these pull-ups that leave me feeling dry and comfortable all day. Unfortunately, using the bathroom is one luxury not all of us can accommodate. These pull-ups save the day and anxiety.
    5. My husband bought me floor mats to get out of my wheelchair and type on my iPad. He also put some down where I get out of bed. They’re easy to clean and add padding to my area.

    Cerebral palsy products for independence

    1. I have an iPhone, and without this holder, I’d drop it all day. My iPhone doesn’t continuously fall on the floor, and it can hold my credit card for me. Best iPhone case ever.
    2. I found a one-stop face cleanser that works miracles for me. It’s an easy pump that I can use one-handed. I highly recommend Purity by Philosophy, especially with sensitive skin.
    3. For brushing my teeth, I use a toddler toothbrush and toothpaste. Both are helpful for dexterity issues. I also have someone brush with an electric toothbrush and regular toothpaste, but it’s nice being able to do something alone and when you first wake up.
    4. Masks have been everyone’s most hated thing. Cerebral palsy makes mask-wearing extra difficult with drooling and movements. One of my friends told me about a comfortable mask, and I can use. I used gaiters before, and they left terrible lines on my face. These new masks stay on, and no red lines. Plus, once on, I can pull them down enough to take a drink.
    5. Do you want independence from taking your own medicine? I use these medicine boxes and can independently get my own medicine. The buttons are easy to push and use.
